Classic interview with Garcia. He says, two hours a day practice a minimum, and up to 4-6 hours a day when on tour.

Practice is heaven for me. I've been practicing about 2 hours a day since learning the Jerry parts for my band over the last six months. Glad my job gives me the flexibility to do that. Wish I could spend all my waking hours practicing this shizit. Just love it.
