A friend asked me to learn this tune, I went to kind of a red-necky high school in Virginia and learning to play guitar I listened to a lot of southern rock stuff. The Allman Bros were my favorite but Marshall Tucker, the Outlaws (Hughie Thomasson was a badass guitarist), and the obligatory Skynyrd tunes were a lot of what I cut my teeth on. The first Skynyrd record was damned good . . . their fans on the other hand

Here's a cool tune off their first record. I'm capoed on the 9th fret to do my best mandolin impression.
